FAQ
Short answers to what people ask most.
Getting started
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You make games by describing them in the chat, and change them by asking or with simple settings. Putting a game on your site is one copy and paste. Developers can go further with page events and webhooks.
How long does it take to make a game?
A first version takes a minute or two. Most teams spend a few more minutes on colors and the cover, then publish.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every workspace gets 7 days with everything on, and no card is needed. See Plans and trial.
Games
How many games can I make?
As many as you like, on every plan. AI work is paid from the balance, usually a few cents per game.
Can games match my brand?
Yes. Set the font, corners and colors in Style, upload your own font files, or use Match your brand to import them from your website. See Look and feel.
Can I write the puzzles myself?
Yes, for the games that take puzzles of their own: open the Editor. You can also ask the chat for a puzzle about any topic, or let Playgent's daily puzzles run. See Puzzles and content.
What languages do games support?
The game's buttons and screens are in English today, and Playgent's daily puzzles are in English. The chat answers you in your own language.
Will my puzzles ever run out?
No. A Daily game plays your own puzzle when there is one for the day, and Playgent's daily puzzle when there isn't. See Daily games and the schedule.
Publishing
Do I have to paste new code after an update?
No. The code and the link never change. Press Update, and every page that shows the game gets the new version within a minute.
Can I put the same game on several sites?
Yes. Paste the same code on every page. To control where it can appear, list your sites in Your sites.
Does the game slow down my page?
It loads only when a reader scrolls near it, and the script is small and loaded without blocking your page.
Do games work on phones?
Yes. Games fit the width they're given, work with touch, and the share link opens as a page made for phones.
Player data and privacy
What does Playgent collect about players?
No personal information. Players never sign up with Playgent, and Playgent never asks them for a name, email address, phone number or anything else about them. Games set no cookies and don't track players from site to site.
What about analytics?
Analytics are anonymous counts of how games are played: how often a game was shown, started and finished. They keep no names, emails, cookies or IP addresses, and nothing in them can point to a person.
Where is a player's progress kept?
On the player's own device. Saves, streaks and the made-up guest name stay in the browser's storage for the game, never on your site and never in an account.
What about leaderboards?
Guests appear under a made-up name, like Rustic Raven 62. A reader's own name shows only if your site passes it in with signed-in readers. Then you choose what to send: your own id for the reader, which can never be an email address, and a display name. Results are deleted after 90 days, and you can delete one reader's results at any time.
Do players need to accept cookies?
Games set no cookies of their own, so there is nothing for players to accept on Playgent's behalf. If you add Google Analytics events with data-datalayer, your own analytics settings apply.
Do players need an account?
No. Anyone can play. If your site has accounts, you can show readers' own names: see signed-in readers.
Can I get players' results?
Yes, on the Team plan. Signed-in readers' results are sent to your server with the results webhook, and each leaderboard is a public file you can read. See Results.
Account and billing
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Press Manage billing in SettingsBilling. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
What happens to my games if I stop paying?
They keep playing for 7 days after the plan ends, then pause. Nothing is deleted. Pick a plan again and they come back on their own. See Plans and trial.
Can I use my own AI model?
Yes. Add a key from a supported provider in SettingsModels, and the chat runs on your account. See AI balance.
Can I use Playgent from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Connect your assistant and ask it to make, change or publish games. See Connect an assistant.
